Porzio is well-positioned to represent the life sciences industry in the areas of public policy, business development, and election law counseling. Our successes in these areas have been multi-fold. For example, we spearheaded a large coalition on behalf of a large pharmaceutical company that defeated legislation to expand the scope of monetary damages to which the pharmaceutical industry would have been exposed in certain litigation. We also authored uniform legislation on behalf of an alliance of pharmaceutical companies seeking predictable compliance rules across the country.
Our attorneys are also active in trade associations that further the interests of our clients. Porzio is a member of Lawyers for Civil Justice, an influential industry group that fights for tort and legal reform on behalf of the pharmaceutical and manufacturing community.
