About Our Practice
Porzio, Bromberg & Newman’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Department is well known nationally in the bankruptcy and restructuring field. In addition to being frequent authors and lecturers on various bankruptcy-related topics, our attorneys have served as law clerks to bankruptcy judges and as professors of bankruptcy law at Rutgers Law School. The department represents an array of clients during their time of financial crisis:
- Debtors: Porzio, Bromberg & Newman represents debtors in pre-bankruptcy workouts and insolvency proceedings in varied industries such as telecom, asbestos, technology, entertainment and manufacturing.
- Creditors: The firm counsels secured and unsecured creditors, indenture trustees and court appointed committees or representatives in all phases of Chapter 11 and 7 cases.
- Landlords: Porzio, Bromberg & Newman represents landlords, lessors and parties to contracts.
- Asset Purchasers: The firm assists clients in purchasing assets from bankruptcy estates. Additionally, our attorneys represent lenders and other creditors whose collateral is sold in bankruptcy asset sales.
