Food Services/Catering Representative - Temporary
Position Summary
Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. (“Porzio”) is a highly-respected, well-established and expanding law firm with two subsidiary companies and offices in NJ, NY, MA, DE and PA. Porzio is looking for a full-time, temporary Food Services/Catering Representative to provide meeting set up and catering for internal meetings and functions in our Morristown, NJ office.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
Essential Functions
- Plan menus and place orders for internal meetings within firm budgets and guidelines.
- Set up conference rooms and internal office space for meetings and functions; clean up after meetings and events.
- Place orders and maintain inventory of firm purchased consumables and supplies within firm budgets and guidelines.
- Monitor the quality of catering and supplies.
- Liaison with external caterers and supply vendors.
- Ensure all kitchens and coffee service areas are clean and equipped with appropriate supplies.
- Respond to phone messages and requests from personnel regarding internal functions and supplies.
- Receive, process and approve catering and supply invoices from vendors.
- Maintain personal workspace and supply closets in a neat, clean and organized manner.
- Continually review, along with Director of Facility Services, pricing for goods and services to ensure competitive pricing for the firm.
- Maintain computer records of catering and supply requests.
- Ability to answer all incoming calls and make outgoing calls in such a manner as to meet firm minimum requirements.
Other Responsibilities
- Performance of other work-related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- One (1) year supervisory catering and/or housekeeping experience or equivalent.
- Ability to use office equipment, such as copier, calculator, fax machine, multi-extension telephone and computer.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Flexibility in daily work schedule to meet firm's needs during periods of heavy workload.
- A valid driver's license or ability to transport oneself to off-site locations independently of mass transit, if necessary.
