4/12/2021

The Honorable Jack L. Lintner,  P.J.A.D. (ret) joins Porzio, Bromberg & Newman P.C. in the Morristown office as Of Counsel.  The former Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division, and Middlesex County Chancery and Law Divisions will continue his distinguished career in litigation and appellate advocacy consultation, as well as dispute resolution with a particular focus on mediation and arbitration.

Porzio's Managing Principal Vito A. Gagliardi, Jr., welcomes Lintner, "We look forward to working with him and to gaining, both for our clients and ourselves, the tremendous benefits of his experience."

"I am excited to be a part of a firm that has such a long tradition of legal excellence and an innovative spirit," said Lintner. "My experience on and off the bench combined with the experience of my fellow jurists will further foster collaboration across multiple practice areas and lead to firm success."

Lintner joins fellow retired judiciary members James H. Coleman, Jr., former Associate Justice of the New Jersey State Supreme Court; Alvin Weiss, former Assignment Judge in Essex County; and Maurice Gallipoli, former Assignment Judge in Hudson County.  They handle mediations and arbitrations and advise attorneys from Porzio and other firms with trial and appellate court strategies through counseling and mock trial practice.

Lintner began his judicial career as a trial judge in Middlesex County in 1988, where he attained the position of Presiding Judge of the Civil and Chancery Divisions.  He was appointed to the Appellate Division in 1999 and served as Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division from 2006 until his retirement in 2008. Lintner published over 100 opinions during his judicial career.  He served on the Appellate Attorney Standards, the Appellate Division/Assignment Judge Liaison Standing, and the New Jersey Supreme Court Civil Practice Committees.

Before his appointment to the bench in 1988, Lintner's practice concentrated on civil litigation specializing in tort, products liability, construction, and insurance coverage litigation.
